Puanga Kai Rau opens at the Māoriland Hub

Puanga Kai Rau - a collaboration exhibition where Māori Artists familiar and unfamiliar to each other, gather as a fusion to create a new energy force likened to the majestic rising of Puanga in the night skies. Puanga is one of the connecting stars with Matariki, linking in to her ascension. an evening for celebration, acknowledgement, reflection and affirmation not only for contributing artists but the wider community.
PUANGA KAI RAU runs from July 10-17 at the Māoriland Hub with artists demonstrations and artist in residence.

Hear the personal stories of three wahine Māori working in a male dominated industry as cultural tattoo artists. have the opportunity to ask your own questions of the artist and to hear their personal interpretations of the collection of curated artworks that will be on display during this one-off Māori Art Salon.
